What Really Motivates Audiences to Attend Events Today?

18 May 2026

In a world where audiences are constantly exposed to an endless stream of content, events, and digital distractions, capturing and maintaining their attention has become increasingly challenging. This was one of the key topics discussed during a panel featuring our Managing Director, Damir Vranić.

Together with fellow industry professionals, the discussion explored the factors that shape successful events and communication strategies today. The conversation focused on relevance, the power of cultural moments, the role of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), and the importance of creating experiences that audiences genuinely want to be part of.

FOMO emerged as one of the central themes. However, creating a sense of exclusivity alone is no longer enough. Truly impactful events are built on a deep understanding of audience needs, awareness of the broader cultural context, and the ability to deliver meaningful value to participants.

Today, people attend events for much more than the agenda itself. They seek opportunities to connect, exchange ideas, gain inspiration, and feel part of a community that shares common interests and values. As a result, the attendee experience has become one of the most critical elements of event design.

For brands and organisers, this presents both a challenge and an opportunity. Success requires thinking beyond logistics and production to create authentic experiences that leave a lasting impression. Relevance, emotional connection, and audience understanding are no longer optional extras—they are essential components of effective communication.

We are always pleased to support projects and initiatives that bring industry professionals together and encourage meaningful conversations about the future of communications and events. Sharing experiences and perspectives plays a vital role in generating new ideas and responding to evolving audience expectations.

We would like to thank the organisers for their warm hospitality and inspiring atmosphere. We look forward to future opportunities to continue the conversation and explore how we can create events that audiences simply do not want to miss.
